All A2L and Hydrocarbon refrigerant cylinder adaptors differ from the original standard right handed thread brass or plastic adaptors we have all been using for decades.
Any cylinder that contains a hydrocarbon like R600 or R290 and any cylinder that contains an A2L refrigerant like R32 or R1234yf will have a left handed thread on the cylinder valve, so you cannot use a standard right hand thread cylinder adaptor to access the refrigerant.
These A2L and Hydrocarbon cylinders are easily identifiable as the top half of the cylinder is painted red.
Engineers now need to carry the new brass left handed thread cylinder adaptor designed specifically for these red top cylinders.
