The New 270-F18 model is designed to be fitted to the optional heavy duty extendable steel tripod, which makes it much easier to work when standing up.
You dont necessarily need to buy the tripod as the gear bender can be used on the floor, however because the gear mechanism is greased, there is a danger of getting grit and dirt in the gears, if that happens and causes damage to the bender any warranty would be void.
